2005 Early Bird Dinner & Dance

Friday Night's Early Bird Dinner & Dance a Huge Success - Record Attendance

Mary Nell Dey and Sandy Price enjoying their dinner during the Early Bird Dinner & Dance.

American Legion Post 177 had a record turnout at Friday night's Early Bird Dinner & Dance.  Attendees feasted on Prime Rib, Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Fried Oysters, and all the trimmings.  It is estimated that nearly 300 meals were served.  A special thanks to Donna Frank, Club Manager, and Doug Wilson, Head Chef, for handling this unexpectedly large crowd and making sure that everybody was fed in style.

Membership Committee receives awards for their outstanding recruiting efforts. Left to right: Mark Duke, Commander, presenting awards to Luther Hodges, Grady Wilson, and Bill Anderson.
Post Commander Mark Duke took the opportunity to award hard working volunteers for their efforts throughout the year.

After dinner everybody stayed to dance, socialize, and enjoy the music of Gerry Maddox. His fun renditions of Jimmy Buffet songs, Caribbean favorites, and Classic Rock tunes kept everybody dancing throughout the evening.

Singer/DJ Gerry Maddox kept the crowd swinging with his upbeat music and classic venue.

The evening sported a "Jimmy Buffet" theme with classic music played throughout the night. Revelers wore all kinds of costumes that fit the Caribbean theme creating a very colorful, laid-back atmosphere.

Brenda DiMichele, Judge Advocate, and Dave Gledhill, brightened up the night with their colorful Hawaiian outfits.

Thanks to Grady Wilson and all those behind the scenes for a job well-done and a wonderful venue.

Be sure to enjoy the picture slide show below.

Everybody had a great time.  Couples danced throughout the evening to classic songs.
