177 volunteers were out in force this past Sunday, staffing an information and recruitment effort at
this year’s Fairfax City Fall Festival. The event was
originally scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed until
Sunday, October 9th due to heavy rain. There was still a
large crowd that turned out for the fair.
Volunteers signed up for 1 hour time slots, 10 AM to 5 PM.

Wilson, 1st Vice Commander, talking with a passer-by
about membership in American Legion Post 177.

They spread the word about the benefits of belonging to the American Legion,
service to our country, community, and fellow veterans. More
than ever, we need to promote Americanism and the Fall Festival
is a wonderful opportunity for us to do so. A special thank you
goes out to all that signed up. First
time Legionnaire membership on that day
was
paid by the
post.

all-you-can-eat for just $5.00 per person. The
breakfast buffet included bacon, sausage, scrambled
eggs, creamed chip beef and biscuits, pancakes, assorted
fruit, and so much more. The Auxiliary assisted at
the door. |
