177 Legionnaires Celebrate 60th Anniversary at Family

This
year's family picnic was a great success. The picnic was
held behind the Post Home on Sunday, August 21st. American Legion Post 177 celebrated
its 60th Anniversary with special guests and many
activities including the dedication of our new sign

This
year's family picnic promises to be quite special.
American Legion Post 177 will be celebrating their 60th
Anniversary. Special guests will be attending and many
activities are planned including the dedication of our new sign
out front. The new sign will be lighted.
At the picnic we will be serving BBQ, chicken, hot dogs,
hamburgers, and pork ribs with all the trimmings including
potato salad, macaroni salad, Cole slaw, baked beans, mixed
salad and dressings. Of course, there will be homemade
apple, cherry, and peach pies. Come out and have a good
time.

Officers Attend Annual Training
The
officers of Post 177 attended the American Legion College in
Richmond, Virginia this past weekend. Subjects such as
legal issues, recruiting and retention, and duties and
responsibilities of the various positions were covered.
60th
Anniversary Pins on Sale by Auxiliary
The
American Legion Post 177
Auxiliary is selling 60th Anniversary pins for the
nominal price of $3.00. These are nicely designed, blue
and white pins in the shape of the State of Virginia with the American Legion emblem. If you would like to
